Montevarchi, 20 e 21 Giugno 2026 – La nona prova di mondiale ha portato il circus di nuovo in Italia. Dopo vent’anni il Miravalle di Montevarchi (AR) ha ospitato una tappa iridata ed è stata l’occasione per far esordire in questa competizione Andrea Uccellini.
E’ stato un sabato da sogno per lui ma purtroppo il suo week end è finito li.
Un sabato bollente ha complicato il compito dei piloti in pista, Andrea Uccellini dopo le libere ha affrontato il time practice in sella alla sua TM 250 MX FI concludendolo con il 16° tempo che gli è servito poi per schierarsi al cancelletto di partenza della manche di qualifica.
Andrea seppur in posizione poco vantaggiosa è scattato benissimo e dopo la prima curva si è ritrovato in seconda posizione. Nel corso del primo giro è passato in testa per alcuni metri poi ha perso due posizioni transitando terzo dopo la prima tornata.
Da li in poi il calo è stato graduale, Andrea dopo l’infortunio al ginocchio in Francia non si è più allenato a dovere ed a questi livelli è un aspetto a cui si deve pagar pegno.
Dopo i venti minuti più due giri è transitato sotto la bandiera a scacchi in 14° posizione, primo tra i piloti italiani.
Purtroppo proprio sul traguardo all’atterraggio dal panettone di arrivo ha battuto di nuovo il ginocchio infortunato.
Domenica mattina Andrea si è recato dal medico di gara per farsi togliere del liquido dal ginocchio ma a quel punto, vista la situazione, è stato proprio il dottore a negare ad Andrea la possibilità di correre le due manche iridate.
Un finale prematuro al suo debutto mondiale, rimane comunque la sua bella prestazione al sabato che ha confermato il suo talento e che sicuramente fa ben sperare per il futuro. Adesso però bisogna capire cosa fare con il ginocchio, a giorni avremo gli aggiornamenti del caso.
Sembra improbabile, al momento, che il team possa recarsi in Portogallo per la prossima tappa di Europeo/Mondiale.
ANDREA UCCELLINI: “E’ stato un sabato bellissimo. Questo debutto nel mondiale per me è stato un sogno che si realizza e non pensavo di poter essere così competitivo. Nel time practice ho chiuso 16° ma sinceramente potevo fare qualcosa in più ma ho avuto alcuni contrattempi. La manche di qualifica è iniziata alla grande. Sono partito secondo e per un momento sono anche stato primo. Poi purtroppo con il passare dei minuti la mia scarsa condizione fisica mi ha fatto progressivamente calare il ritmo ma sono comunque arrivato 14°. Poi però anche nel corso della gara avevo capito che il ginocchio si era gonfiato così domenica mattina sono andato dal medico per farmi togliere il liquido dal ginocchio. Dopo aver constatato che togliendolo il ginocchio rimaneva gonfio il dottore mi ha negato la possibilità di correre le manche. Nei prossimi giorni faremo tutti gli accertamenti del caso per capire il da farsi. Non so nulla sui tempi che ci vorranno per tornare a correre ma lo farò sicuramente quando starò bene. Montevarchi, 20 and 21 June 2026 – The ninth round of the world championship brought the circus back to Italy. After twenty years, the Miravalle in Montevarchi (AR) hosted a world championship stage and it was the opportunity for Andrea Uccellini to make his debut in this competition. It was a dream Saturday for him but unfortunately his weekend ended there.
A hot Saturday complicated the task of the riders on the track. After free practice, Andrea Uccellini faced time practice on his TM 250 MX FI, concluding it with the 16th time which then served him to line up at the starting gate of the qualifying heat.
Even though Andrea was in a less than advantageous position, he got off to a great start and found himself in second position after the first corner. During the first lap he took the lead for a few meters then lost two positions, moving into third after the first lap.
From then on the decline was gradual, Andrea no longer trained properly after his knee injury in France and at this level it is an aspect that must be paid for.
After twenty minutes plus two laps he passed the checkered flag in 14th position, first among the Italian drivers.
Unfortunately right at the finish line upon landing from the arrival panettone he hit his injured knee again.
On Sunday morning Andrea went to the race doctor to have some fluid removed from his knee but at that point, given the situation, it was the doctor who denied Andrea the possibility of running in the two world heats.
A premature ending to his world debut, his good performance on Saturday still remains, which confirmed his talent and certainly gives hope for the future. But now we need to understand what to do with the knee, in a few days we will have the necessary updates.
It seems unlikely, at the moment, that the team will be able to travel to Portugal for the next round of the European/World Championship.
ANDREA UCCELLINI: “It was a beautiful Saturday. This debut in the world championship was a dream come true for me and I didn’t think I could be so competitive. In the time practice I finished 16th but honestly I could have done something more but I had some setbacks. The qualifying heat started off great. I started second and for a moment I was even first. Then unfortunately, as the minutes passed, my poor physical condition caused me to progressively lower my pace but I still finished 14th. But then also during the race I realized that my knee had swollen so on Sunday morning I went to the doctor to have the fluid removed from my knee. After having found that the knee was still swollen by removing it, the doctor denied me the possibility of racing in the heats. In the next few days we will do all the necessary tests to understand what to do person of Gastone serafini, all my family and all those who help us this season. I hope”.
