GP della Città di Mantova: Fredriksen fa ‘bis’ e sale nuovamente sul podio della classe EMX250, ora è quarto in classifica generale. Una caduta in avvio di gara 2 fa sfumare il podio per Renaux, che chiude quarto assoluto. Jacobi sfiora la ‘top 10’ della MXGP.

Il tacciato del ‘Tazio Nuvolari’ di Mantova continua a portare bene al Team SM Action Yamaha, che gara dopo gara riscuote sempre più successo sia nelle classi del mondiali, sia in quelle minori dell’europeo.

Il GP della Città di Mantova, decimo round del FIM Motocross World Championship si tiene in versione infrasettimanale dopo solo due giorni di riposo ed anche i ragazzi del Campionato EMX250 sono nuovamente in pista per disputare il sesto round stagionale.

Sull’onda del buon risultato conseguito nel precedente GP, il norvegese Hakon Fredriksen #427 aggredisce la difficile sabbia mantovana al primo ingresso in pista e nelle libere ottiene il 1° tempo del suo gruppo. Le seguenti cronometrate Hakon si ripete ed è nuovamente il più veloce, aggiudicandosi il 2° cancelletto sullo schieramento di partenza.

Nelle due manche di gara, Fredriksen è determinato nel continuare la scia di risultati positivi e in entrambe le partenze si posiziona subito all’interno della ‘top 5’. Nella prima frazione è subito 4° ma dopo pochi giri sale in 3a posizione e la tiene sin sotto la bandiera a scacchi. Nella seconda frazione, si posiziona subito 2° e senza alcun errore, giunge al traguardo 2°. In classifica di giornata, è nuovamente 2° e conquista il secondo podio in carriera e il secondo podio consecutivo. In classifica di campionato, balza dall’8° al 4° posto e fa il suo ingresso nella ‘top 5’. Con quattro gare ancora da disputare e con queste prestazioni messe in campo, la ‘top 3’ e sicuramente alla sua portata.

Nella classe MX2, la domenica mattina di Maxime Renaux #959 comincia con un 3° tempo nelle libere e prosegue con un 8° tempo nelle cronometrate. In gara 1 la partenza del francese è quasi perfetta con la Yamaha #959 che sbuca 3a dopo la prima curva. Nell’arco di pochi giri Maxime risale in 2a posizione e favorito dalla caduta del leader, nel corso del terzo giro prende la testa della corsa. Renaux guida la gara con autorevolezza sino ad un giro dal termine quando viene sorpassato, tagliando così il traguardo 2°.In gara 2, la fortuna non è dalla parte del francese che purtroppo al termine del rettifilo di partenza rimane coinvolto in una caduta multipla. Ripartito penultimo, Maxime dà vita ad una furiosa rimonta che lo porta sino al 7° posto finale. Purtroppo però la posizione non è sufficiente al francese per salire sul podio e ancora una volta gli sfugge per un niente. A pari punti con il 3° classificato, si ritrova 4°. In classifica di campionato però, Maxime rafforza la sua 3a posizione.

Nella classe MXGP, il tedesco Henry Jacobi #29 non è veloce nelle libere e si posiziona 23° ma nelle qualifica migliora sensibilmente la sua precedente prestazione e chiude 16°. In gara 1 però, il tedesco azzecca una buona partenza e dopo il primo giro è 11°. La sua prestazione in gara e lineare e concreta e nonostante un piccolo contatto con un avversario verso fine gara, Henry conquista un soddisfacente 13° posto. In gara 2 Henry si ripete; buona partenza e condotta di gara regolare. Il risultato finale è un 12° posto che lo accredita dell’11° posto di giornata. In classifica di campionato rimane stabile in 15a posizione.
Il GP d’Europa, undicesimo round del FIM Motocross World Championship, è in calendario per il weekend del 3 e 4 ottobre e completerà il ‘tris’ di gare mondiali previste presso il ‘Tazio Nuvolari’ di Mantova. Anche per questo GP ci saranno in gara i ragazzi del Campionato EMX250.

Maxime Renaux #959: “Tutto sommato è stato un buon weekend anche se mi è dispiaciuto non salire sul podio. Dopo il 2° posto nella prima manche, sono stato sfortunato nella seconda con la caduta all’inizio ma comunque il ritmo di gara era buono e avrò occasione di rifarmi, spero già domenica nel GP d’Europa.”

GP of the City of Mantua: Fredriksen made the “bis” and went again on the podium of the EMX250 class, and now he is 4th in the General Classification. A crash at the beginning of Race 2 vanished the podium for Renaux, who finished 4th overall. Jacobi just touched the “top 10” in the MXGP.

“Tazio Nuvolari” circuit, in Mantua, is still a good place for Team SM Action Yamaha, as race by race keeps getting more successes in the World Championship classes and in the European Championship too.

The GP of the City of Mantua, which was the 10th round of the FIM Motocross World Championship, took place in the middle of the week just after two days of rest, and the riders of the EMX250 Championship participated too for the 6th round of the season.

After that good result gained in the previous GP, the Norwegian Hakon Fredriksen #427 attacked the difficult sand of the track at the first chance already, as he was the fastest one in his Free Practice group. In the following Timed Practice Hakon repeated the performance and he conquered the 2nd gate for the starting of the race.

In both races Fredriksen was determined to continue the positive moment and after both starts he positioned in the “top 5”. In Race 1 he started in 4th place but after a few laps he gained one position and he kept it until the checkered flag. In Race 2 he was 2nd after the start and without making any mistakes he kept that position until the finish line. In the overall he ended in 2nd place, so he gained the second podium of his career and also the 2nd one in a row. He jumped from the 8th to the 4th place in the General Classification, so he entered the “Top 5”. With four rounds left and those performances, the “top 3” is for sure possible for him.

In the MX2, Maxime Renaux #959’s Sunday morning started with the 3rd fastest lap time in Free Practice and the 8th in Timed Practice. In Race 1 the French’s start was almost perfect, as his Yamaha #959 jumped out of turn 1 in 3rd place. In a few laps time Maxime managed to move up to the 2nd place and due to the crashes of the riders ahead of him he took the lead during lap 3. Renaux rode his bike with authority until the last lap, when he was overtaken, so he finished in 2nd place. In Race 2 the French did not have good luck, as he was involved in a group crash after the starting straight. Maxime restarted in second-to-last place but he then made a furious recovery that moved him to the 7th final position. Unluckily, that placement was not enough for him to jump onto the podium so he just kissed it once again, as he had the same amount of points as the rider in 3rd place but he finished 4th. In the General Classification, though, he reinforced his 3rd place.

In the MXGP, the German Henry Jacobi #29 was not fast in Free Practice (23rd place) but he strongly improved in Timed Practice and he finished 16th. In Race 1 the German had a good start and he was 11th after lap 1. His performance through the race was smooth and concrete, and even though he had a contact with another rider towards the end of the race, Henry conquered a satisfying 13th place. In Race 2 Henry repeated himself: good start and regular conduction of the race. He finished 12th and he then finished 11th in the overall. He is still in 15th place in the General Classification of the Championship.
The GP of Europe, 11th round of the FIM Motocross World Championship, will take place in the next 3rd and 4th of october, to complete the three-in-a-row rounds that were scheduled at the “Tazio Nuvolari” circuit of Mantua. In this occasion there will be once again a round of the EMX250 Championship.

Maxime Renaux #959: “It was a good weekend after all, even though i’m disappointed because i missed the podium. After the 2nd place in Race 1 I then had some bad luck in Race 2, as I crashed at the start of the race. However, my race pace was good and I will make up for it from the GP of Europe already next Sunday.
