In quel di Mantova, round conclusivo degli Internazionali d’Italia MX, Forato si classifica quinto assoluto della MX2. Adamo autore di due solide manche, centra la ‘top 10’. Horgmo veloce ma sfortunato nella Supercampione.

Terminata la parentesi sarda con le due prove di Riola Sardo (OR) e Alghero (SS) disputate in un clima quasi primaverile, la ‘carovana del motocross’ torna nel freddo nord Italia. Il tracciato designato per il capitolo conclusivo degli Internazionali d’Italia Motocross Eicma Series è quello internazionale denominato ‘Città di Mantova’, situato appena fuori la storica città lombarda.
All’evento naturalmente non poteva mancare l’SM Action GasGas Racing Team Yuasa Battery pronto ad una nuova sfida nella competitiva classe MX2 con i suoi tre alfieri Alberto Forato #303, Andrea Adamo #80 e Kevin Horgmo #24.
Al termine delle sessioni di prove cronometrate del mattino, con i piloti suddivisi in due gruppi, è ancora una volta il norvegese Horgmo a mettersi in luce nel team ottenendo il 5° tempo assoluto. Poco più indietro in griglia di partenza, si posizionano Forato e Adamo, rispettivamente 9° e 10°.

In avvio della manche della MX2, è Adamo a centrare la partenza migliore con la GasGas #80 che transita 8a dopo il primo rilevamento cronometrico. Horgmo poco più indietro è 14° mentre Forato, autore di una piccola ‘sbavatura’ nel corso del giro iniziale, transita 31°. Col trascorrere dei giri, Andrea tiene un buon ritmo di gara, guadagna qualche posizione e si porta a ridosso della ‘top 5’ conquistando il 6° posto finale. Ottima invece la progressione verso l’alto del norvegese Horgmo che nei giri iniziali conquista rapidamente la ‘top 10’ e nelle seguenti tornate continua a guadagnare posizioni sino a tagliare il traguardo con un ottimo 5° posto. Buono anche il recupero messo in campo da Alberto che penalizzato dopo il pessimo avvio, centra la ‘top 20’ chiudendo 15° e assicurandosi un posto nella manche Supercampione. A conclusione del campionato, i tre piloti dell’SM Action GasGas Racing Team Yuasa Battery si classificano così: Forato 5°, Adamo 8° e Horgmo 13°.

Nella manche Supercampione, tutti e tre i portacolori dell’SM Action GasGas Racing Team Yuasa Battery si stabiliscono subito all’interno della ‘top 20’ con Horgmo 9°, Adamo 14 ° seguito da Forato 15°.Tutti e tre piloti guidano in ‘attacco’ e rapidamente, guadagno l’ingresso all’interno della ‘top 10’. Quando tutto sembra volgere al meglio però, Horgmo è costretto al ritiro per un piccolo problema tecnico alla sua GasGas e abbandona la 7a piazza. La gara termina così con Adamo che conquista l’8° posto davanti a Forato 9°. In classifica generale, Forato centra la ‘top 10’ posizionandosi 8°. Adamo e Horgmo rientrano nella ‘top 20’ risultando rispettivamente 13° e 17°.
Terminati gli Internazionali d’Italia Motocross, l’appuntamento è fissato per il weekend del 10 e 11 Aprile, quando l’SM Action GasGas Racing Team Yuasa Battery tornerà in pista per il primo round del Campionato Italiano MX Prestige sul tracciato di Maggiora (NO).
Andrea Adamo #80: “E’ stata una giornata discreta. Nella prima manche sono partito bene ma la moto aveva un assetto che proprio non mi piaceva perché stavamo provando qualcosa di nuovo ma la strada non era quella giusta. Non mi trovavo bene e non avevo un buon ‘feeling’ nella guida, di conseguenza ho fatto fatica tutta la manche. Nella Supercampione abbiamo cambiato l’assetto e mi sono trovato molto meglio. Ho fatto una bella gara e sono contendo del risultato finale, un 8° assoluto e 4° della MX2. Abbiamo salvato la giornata in ‘corner’ diciamo! Ora avremo circa un mese di tempo per prepararci alla prima gara del Campionato Italiano Prestige di Maggiora e ci concentreremo per migliorarci ancora.”

At Mantua, last round of the “Internazionali d’Italia MX”, Forato classified 5th overall in the MX2. Adamo, who made two solid races, entered in the “top 10”. Horgmo was quick but he was penalized by a crash in the “Supercampione” race.
After the run in Sardinia with the two rounds at Riola Sardo and Alghero, which were raced in a quite springy weather, the “Motocross Circus” went back to the cold of North of Italy. The circuit designed for the last chapter of the “Internazionali d’Italia Motocross Eicma Series” was the “Città di Mantua” international track, which is located just outside the city of Lombardy.
SM Action GasGas Racing Team Yuasa Battery could not miss the opportunity of a new challenge in the tight MX2 class, and it deployed its three riders Alberto Forato #303, Andrea Adamo #80 and Kevin Horgmo #24.
At the end of morning’s Timed Practice, with the riders divided in two groups, once again was the Norwegian Horgmo who shined with the 5th fastest lap time. A little bit further back there were Forato and Adamo, 9th and 10th respectively.
At the beginning of the MX2 race, Adamo had the best start with its GasGas #80, as he was 8th after lap 1. Horgmo was behind in 14th place while Forato, who made a small mistake, was 31st. Lap by lap, Andrea kept a good race pace, he gained a few positions and he finished one place behind the “top 5”. Great progression by Horgmo instead, as he quickly entered the “top 10” during the first laps and then moved up some more places with a great 5th final place. Good comeback for Alberto too, who was penalized by a bad start, as he entered the “top 20” and finished 15th, securing a place in the “Supercampione”. At the end of the Championship, the three riders of SM Action GasGas Racing Team Yuasa Battery classified in this order: Forato 5th, Adamo 8th and Horgmo 13th.
In the “Supercampione” race, all the riders of SM Action GasGas Racing Team Yuasa Battery found a place in the “top 20” straight away, with Horgmo 9th, Adamo 14th and Forato 15th. When everything seemed to be alright, though, Horgmo was forced to retire for a small technical issue at its GasGas, so he lost his 7th place. The race ended with Adamo in 8th position ahead of Forato in 9th. In the General Classification Forato gained a place in the “top 10” as he positioned 8th. Adamo and Horgmo finished in the “top 20” in 13th and 17th place respectively.
The “Internazionali d’Italia” have finished, so the next appointment of the season will take place on the 10th and the 11th of April, when the SM Action GasGas Racing Team Yuasa Battery will go back on track for the first round of the MX Prestige Italian Championship at Maggiora (Novara, Italy) circuit.
Andrea Adamo # 80: “It was a decent day. In the first moto I got a good start but the bike had a set-up that I really didn’t like because we were trying something new but the road wasn’t the right one. I was not feeling well and I did not have a good ‘feeling’ in the driving, as a result I struggled the whole heat. In the Supercampione we changed the set-up and I felt much better. I had a good race and I am confident of the final result, an overall 8th and 4th in MX2. We have saved the day in the ‘corner’, let’s say! Now we will have about a month to prepare for the first race of the Italian Prestige Championship in Maggiora and we will concentrate on improving even more.”
