Il Gran Premio di Svezia ha dato inizio agli ultimi cinque round del 2023 MXGP durante le sei settimane successive e la Red Bull KTM Factory Racing ha celebrato un altro “doppio” podio con condizioni nuvolose, mutevoli e fresche a Uddevalla. Liam Everts e Andrea Adamo hanno utilizzato le loro KTM 250 SX-F per conquistare il 2° e il 3° posto in MX2 per la quindicesima gara della stagione e i due sono ora 1-2 in campionato.

Liam Everts sale al secondo posto nel campionato del mondo MX2 dopo il suo sesto podio nel calendario 2023 e altri due primi tre risultati in gara.
Andrea Adamo mantiene il controllo della tabella rossa MX2 come leader della classifica dopo aver recuperato dal 10° posto nella prima manche per vincere la seconda e classificarsi 3° assoluto.
Jeffrey Herlings finisce tra i primi quattro alla sua seconda apparizione in un Gran Premio da quando è tornato da un infortunio alla schiena.
Sacha Coenen prende il sesto posto e fa una top five per la terza volta nella sua stagione da rookie. MXGP si sposterà direttamente nei Paesi Bassi per il round 16 il prossimo fine settimana.
Dopo tre Gran Premi consecutivi in Repubblica Ceca, Belgio e Finlandia, la MXGP è tornata a correre con la trasferta annuale a Uddevalla, in Svezia. Situato a breve distanza a nord di Göteborg e costituito da un percorso stretto formato da terra battuta sassosa e scivolosa difficile da sorpassare, Uddevalla ha offerto un clima caldo ma variabile per tutto il fine settimana.
Il migliore della Red Bull KTM durante le due manche di qualificazione RAM di sabato è stato Liam Everts, con un volo in seconda posizione, ma il compagno di squadra Andrea Adamo non era lontano in terza posizione. Jeffrey Herlings ha guidato la sua KTM 450 SX-F tra i primi quattro nell’uscita MXGP.
La domenica mattina è iniziata umida e grigia, ma presto si è rischiarata. La forte pioggia notturna ha avuto un effetto marcato sulle condizioni della pista rendendola più morbida, più lenta e più ruvida. Herlings non ha avuto la migliore partenza nella prima manche e il contatto con un altro pilota ha rotto la protezione della forcella anteriore destra; ha affrontato la fase iniziale della gara con la guardia che sbatteva e rischiava di bloccargli la ruota anteriore. Una volta calato il componente, ha provato a guadagnare posizioni ed è arrivato 8°. L’olandese è poi arrivato 4° nella seconda manche: un acquazzone prolungato ha reso la pista ancora più monofilare e non è riuscito a retrocedere Maxime Renaux per entrare nei primi tre.
Nella MX2 Liam Everts ha guidato stabilmente al 2° posto nella prima corsa. Sacha Coenen è riuscito a raggiungere i primi cinque nonostante alcuni errori. Andrea Adamo è stato vittima dello stato paludoso del rettilineo di partenza ed è quasi caduto. Ha pagato la sua sfortuna con il decimo.
La seconda manche è stata incentrata sul miglioramento dei lanci per il trio mentre volavano 2-3-4 intorno al primo giro. Adamo è stato il più proattivo su una superficie più asciutta e ha superato Kevin Horgmo per prendere il comando e raggiungere la sua quarta vittoria in gara della stagione. Everts ha spinto al massimo per salire al 3 ° posto e si è assicurato un punteggio di 2-3. L’ottavo posto di Coenen ha consentito il sesto posto assoluto. I risultati hanno rappresentato rispettivamente il nono e il sesto podio per Adamo ed Everts e il quarto Gran Premio che sono apparsi insieme sul box.
Adamo ha totalizzato 663 punti nella classifica MX2, il che significa un vantaggio di 80 su Everts al 2° posto. Coenen è 13esimo. Il Gran Premio dei Paesi Bassi si svolgerà ad Arnhem il prossimo fine settimana.
Jeffrey Herlings, 8° e 4° per il 4° assoluto in MXGP: “Così così. La pista oggi non era delle migliori e penso che molti condivideranno questa opinione. Non sono partito nella prima manche e sono passato dal 15° all’8° posto, ma era quasi impossibile passare: penso si vedesse che molti dei migliori erano bloccati. Nella seconda manche ero 4° all’inizio e avevo il ritmo per i primi ma non sono riuscito a superare [Maxime] Renaux. Stava guidando davvero bene, non ha commesso errori ed era sempre in prima linea! Il 4° posto assoluto non va bene, non male. Spero che le tracce migliorino un po’ per noi e che possiamo fare uno spettacolo migliore. Non vedo l’ora che arrivi il mio GP di casa ora: sarà difficile, sarà dura ma dovrebbe essere bello! Due partenze decenti e spero che lotteremo per un posto sul podio”.
Liam Everts, 2° e 3° per il 2° assoluto in MX2: “Corse divertenti. Un altro podio e sono super felice. Ho avuto un’ottima sensazione per tutto il weekend. È stato molto difficile passare, anche sull’asciutto, ma comunque divertente e stavo aspettando una gara sul fango! P2 è abbastanza buono in campionato. Non mi aspettavo davvero di trovarmi in questa situazione, ma è bello ovviamente! Mancano ancora quattro GP e tutto può succedere. Non lascerò il mio compagno di squadra fuori dai guai! Voglio solo guardare da fine settimana a fine settimana e finire forte.
Andrea Adamo, 10° e 1° per 3° assoluto in MX2: “Non è stato un GP soddisfacente ma è stata una buona seconda manche. Ho davvero spinto. Sono andato all-in. Il decimo posto nella prima gara era tutto quello che potevo fare. Mi è stata tolta la ruota anteriore ed ero completamente ultimo. Sono quasi caduto duramente ma sono riuscito a salvarlo. Non riuscivo davvero a superare il branco. Stavo cercando di prendere la nona posizione, ma ho commesso un errore e questo mi ha portato in decima posizione e ho finito la mia manche. Davanti a ta seconda manche sapevo che oggi non avrei vinto la classifica generale, quindi ho pensato che ci avrei provato davvero. Un buon modo per concludere il weekend.”
Sacha Coenen, 5° e 8° per il 6° assoluto in MX2: “Speravamo di lottare per il podio ma oggi non ci siamo riusciti. La mia velocità era abbastanza buona, ma qualche piccola caduta. Ho avuto un contatto con il mio compagno di squadra all’inizio della seconda manche e ho avuto un po’ di dolore per un po’, ma il mio ritmo era buono. Un altro piccolo incidente! Ciò significava P8. È così. Continueremo a lavorare”.

RED BULL KTM 1-2 IN MX2 CHAMPIONSHIP STANDINGS AFTER DOUBLE SWEDISH GP PODIUM
The Grand Prix of Sweden began the final five round run-in of 2023 MXGP during the next six weeks and Red Bull KTM Factory Racing celebrated another podium ‘double’ through overcast, changeable and cool conditions at Uddevalla. Liam Everts and Andrea Adamo used their KTM 250 SX-Fs to take 2nd and 3rd positions in MX2 for the fifteenth race of the season and the duo are now 1-2 in the championship.
Liam Everts rises to P2 in the MX2 world championship after his sixth rostrum of the 2023 calendar and two more top three race results.
Andrea Adamo maintains control of the MX2 red plate as standings leader after recovering from 10th in the first moto to win the second and classify 3rd overall.
Jeffrey Herlings finishes in the top four on his second Grand Prix appearance since returning from back injury.
Sacha Coenen takes 6th and makes a moto top five for the third time in his rookie season. MXGP will move direct to the Netherlands for round 16 next weekend.
After three back-to-back Grands Prix in Czech Republic, Belgium and Finland, MXGP resumed racing duties with the annual trip to Uddevalla, Sweden. Located a short distance north of Gothenburg and consisting of a tight course formed from stony and slick hard-pack dirt that was difficult for overtaking, Uddevalla provided warm but changeable weather through the weekend.
Red Bull KTM’s top performer through the two RAM Qualification Heats on Saturday was Liam Everts, with a flight to 2nd position but teammate Andrea Adamo was not far away in 3rd. Jeffrey Herlings rode his KTM 450 SX-F to the top four in the MXGP outing.
Sunday morning began wet and grey but soon brightened. Heavy overnight rain had a marked effect on the track conditions making it softer, slower and rougher. Herlings didn’t have the best start in the first moto and contact with another rider broke his right front fork guard; he negotiated the opening phase of the race with the guard flapping and in danger of jamming his front wheel. Once the component had dropped away, he tried to gain positions and arrived to 8th. The Dutchman then posted 4th in the second moto: a sustained shower made the track even more one-line and he could not demote Maxime Renaux to enter the top three.
In MX2 Liam Everts rode steadily to 2nd spot in the first dash. Sacha Coenen managed to reach the top five despite a few mistakes. Andrea Adamo was a victim of the swampy state of the start straight and almost crashed. He paid for his poor luck with 10th.
The second moto was all about improved launches for the trio as they flew 2-3-4 around the opening lap. Adamo was the most proactive on a drier surface and swept past Kevin Horgmo to take the lead and ride to his fourth race victory of the season. Everts pushed hard to rise to 3rd and secured a 2-3 scorecard. Coenen’s 8th allowed 6th overall. The results represented the ninth and sixth podiums respectively for Adamo and Everts and the fourth Grand Prix they have appeared on the box together.
Adamo has tallied 663 points in the MX2 standings, which means an advantage of 80 over Everts in 2nd. Coenen holds 13th. The Grand Prix of the Netherlands will take place at Arnhem next weekend.
Jeffrey Herlings, 8th and 4th for 4th overall in MXGP: “So-so. The track was not the best today and I think many will share this opinion. I didn’t get the start in the first moto and came from 15th to 8th but it was almost impossible to pass: I think you could see a lot of the top guys were stuck. Second moto I was 4th at the start and had the pace for the leaders but I couldn’t pass [Maxime] Renaux. He was riding really good, didn’t make any mistakes and was always on the line! 4th overall is not good, not bad. I hope the tracks will get a bit better for us and we can put on a better show. I’m looking forward to my home GP now: it’s gonna be hard, gonna be rough but it should be good! Two decent starts and I hope we’ll be fighting for a podium spot.”
Liam Everts, 2nd and 3rd for 2nd overall in MX2: “Fun racing. Another podium and I’m super-happy. I had a great feeling all weekend. It was very hard to pass, even in the dry but still fun and I’d been waiting for a mud race! P2 is pretty good in the championship. I wasn’t really expecting to be in this situation but it’s nice of course! There are still four GPs to go and anything can happen. I won’t let my teammate off the hook! I just want to look weekend-to-weekend and finish strong.”
Andrea Adamo, 10th and 1st for 3rd overall in MX2: “Not a satisfying GP but it was a good second moto. I really pushed. I went all-in. 10th in the first race was all I could do. I had my front wheel taken out and I was completely last. I almost crashed hard but managed to save it. I couldn’t really get through the pack. I was trying to take P9 but made one mistake and that put me P10 and finished my moto. Ahead of the second moto knew I would not win the overall today so I thought I would really go for it. A good way to end the weekend.”
Sacha Coenen, 5th and 8th for 6th overall in MX2: “We were hoping to fight for the podium but couldn’t quite do it today. My speed was quite good but a few little crashes. I had contact with my teammate at the start of the second moto and I had some pain for a while but my rhythm was good. Another little crash! That meant P8. It’s like this. We’ll keep on working.”
