Anche in questa ultima giornata degli Internazionali d’Italia 2019, non è mancato il freddo e nemmeno qualche goccia di pioggia. Nonostante tutto però ben 220 piloti sono scesi in pista cercando di raggiungere la qualificazione per le manche del pomeriggio. Dopo le prove cronometrate, tutti e quattro i piloti del Team SM Action Yamaha si sono qualificati ed hanno così potuto schierarsi al cancello di partenza della manche riservata alla MX2.

Alla prima curva si innesca una carambola fra alcuni piloti e proprio Andrea Adamo ne è coinvolto. Nel frattempo Maxime Renaux e Michele Cervellin transitano al primo giro rispettivamente 15° e 17° mentre Michael Mantovani è 26°.
Renaux inizia una rimonta che a quattro giri dal termine lo vede ottavo, ma una scivolata gli fa perdere due posizioni e chiude decimo. Meglio di lui fa Cervellin che recupera undici posti e passa il traguardo sesto. Adamo ovviamente non entra nella Supercampione per la caduta in partenza e non entra nella gara di fine giornata nemmeno Mantovani.

Nella classifica finale di categoria Cervellin è terzo assoluto a soli 15 punti dalla seconda piazza. Subito dietro si piazza Renaux e pari punti con Jago Geerts.
La Supercampione ha visto Michele Cervellin terminare nella Top Ten mentre Maxime Renaux è due posizioni dietro. Lo start dei due ragazzi è stato buono, soprattutto per il pilota delle Fiamme Oro, ma nel cercare di superare Simone Furlotti per la settima piazza, Michele si scompone e perde un paio di posti.
Nella OVERALL Cervellin e Renaux riescono a finire l’edizione 2019 degli Internazionali d’Italia Eicma Series nei primi dieci a meno di venti punti dalla Top Five.
MICHELE CERVELLIN #747:“Con tutto il Team sto lavorando nella giusta direzione. Anche oggi ritengo che la giornata sia stata positiva. Nella prima manche sono partito bene ma ci sono stati vari contatti alla prima curva e sono caduto. Ho fatto una buona rimonta prendendomi la sesta piazza e la terza posizione in campionato. Nella Supercampione sono riuscito a schivare una caduta di gruppo subito dopo il via e questo mi ha permesso di tagliare il traguardo decimo. Adesso ho due settimane di allenamenti poi andremo in Argentina per la prima prova del Mondiale”.
MAXIME RENAUX #959:“Non è stata una brutta gara questa di Mantova. Gara uno ho fatto decimo nonostante una brutta partenza. Rimontare non è stato semplice ma mi sono concentrato al massimo e penso di aver fatto un buon lavoro. La Supercampione l’ho chiusa al dodicesimo posto cercando di avere un bel ritmo senza prendere tanti rischi. Fra tre settimane ci sarà il GP di Argentina e vedrò quale sarà il mio livello”.

Michele Cervellin finished the 2019 Internazionali d’Italia MX Championship with a podium in MX2. Maxime Renaux is fourth.
Even in the last round of the 2019 “Internazionali d’Italia” there was cold weather and a few rain drops. Despite of that, 220 riders went to the track trying to qualify for the afternoon races. After Timed Practice, all four riders of Team SM Action Yamaha managed to qualify and they all went to the starting gate of the MX2 race.
After the start, at the first corner there was a group crash, and Andrea Adamo got involved in it. Meanwhile, Maxime Renaux and Michele Cervellin finished the first lap in place 15 and 17; Michael Mantovani was 26th.
Renaux started to move up and when there were four laps to go he was 8th. Unluckily, a slip made him moving back to 10th, placement that he kept until the end of the race. Cervellin did things better and his recover finished with the 6th place. Adamo, due to the starting crash, obviously did not qualify for the “Supercampione” race, as well as Mantovani.
At the end of the day, Cervellin was 3rd with only 15 points of gap from the second place. Just behind him, there was Renaux, with the same amount of points of Jago Geerts.
Michele Cervellin finished the “Supercampione” race in the Top Ten, while Maxime Renaux ended two positions behind him. Their start was good, especially for the “Fiamme Oro” rider, but while he was trying to overtake Furlotti to gain the 7th place, Michele’s bike shook a little and he lost two positions. In the OVERALL Cervellin and Renaux managed to finish the 2019 “Internazionali d’Italia” Eicma Series in the Top Ten, with less than 20 points of gap from the Top Five.

“We are all goint to the right direction, me and the Team. Even today I see the positives. In the first race I started quite well, but there were a lot of contacts in the first corner and I fell off my bike. I made a good recover and I managed to finish the race in 6th place and the Championship in 3rd place. In the “Supercampione” race I was able to avoid the group crash of the first corner and this allowed me to finish in 10th place. Now I have two weeks to do some training before going to Argentina for the first round of the World Championship”.
MAXIME RENAUX #959
“It wasn’t a bad race here in Mantua. I finished 10th in the first race, despite of a bad start. It wasn’t easy to move up, but I was highly concentrated and I think I did a good job. I managed to finish the “Supercampione” race in 12th place without taking any risks and having a good pace. Within 3 weeks there will be the GP of Argentina and we’ll see what my level will be”.
