Lugo, 10/11 Maggio 2025 – Per l’ottava prova del Mondiale MX2 la carovana è tornata in Spagna sul tracciato di Lugo. Un fine settimana segnato ancora dalla pioggia che specialmente la domenica ha reso il tracciato molto pesante ed i piloti sono stati costretti ad un’altra gara sul bagnato.
Julius Mikula nella manche di qualifica si è schierato per 19° ed il suo avvio è stato difficile. Mentre stava risalendo posizioni, si trovava a ridosso dei quindici, un guaio meccanico lo ha costretto a ritirarsi.
Domenica la pista era molto pesante specialmente in gara uno. Julius con la sua TM è partito a ridosso della top ten ed ha combattuto in quella zona di classifica per tutta la manche. All’ultimo giro, nel tentativo di agguantare la decima posizione, è uscito dalla traiettoria ideale ed ha trovato fango. Ripartito prontamente ha perso qualche posizione chiudendo 12°.
Nella seconda manche il sole è tornato a fare capolino ma la pista era molto segnata. Julius è partito dietro ma stava recuperando posizioni. Ma un piccolo errore mentre era tredicesimo lo ha fatto ripartire oltre la quindicesima. Negli ultimi giri ha tentato di fare il possibile terminando 14°.
Nell’assoluta del GP ha chiuso all’11° posto ed ora occupa la 17° posizione nella classifica del campionato del mondo riservato alla MX2.

Il prossimo impegno per il team è fissato per il prossimo week end. A Cingoli (MC) il 17 e 18 va in scena il quarto appuntamento con l’Italiano Pro Prestige ed il primo atto della Rookies Cup. Julius sarà in gara sempre nella MX2 mentre Niccolo Mannini parteciperà alla Rookies Cup, gara riservata alla 125.
JULIUS MIKULA: “E’ stato un fine settimana impegnativo quello qui a Lugo, in Spagna. Sabato la pista era veloce e scorrevole, ma purtroppo abbiamo avuto problemi tecnici per tutta la giornata. Questi problemi sono culminati nella gara di qualifica, dove sono stato costretto al ritiro anticipato, compromettendo così la mia posizione di partenza per le manche della domenica.
Grazie all’ottimo lavoro del team, il problema è stato risolto durante la notte e la moto ha funzionato perfettamente domenica. Nella prima manche ero in lotta intorno all’11ª posizione e, all’ultimo giro, nel tentativo di entrare nella top ten, ho scelto la traiettoria sbagliata e sono rimasto bloccato nel fango concludendo al 12° posto.
La seconda manche si è svolta in condizioni meteo ideali, ma il tracciato era estremamente rovinato pieno di buche, solchi e gradini. Avevo un buon ritmo, ma un piccolo errore e una caduta mi hanno fatto chiudere in 14ª posizione.

Lugo, 10/11 May 2025 – For the eighth test of the MX2 World Cup, the caravan returned to Spain on the Lugo track. A weekend still marked by the rain that especially on Sunday made the track very heavy and the pilots were forced to another race on the wet.
Julius Mikula in the qualifyingats of qualifying for 19th and his start was difficult. While positioning was going up, he was close to fifteen, a mechanical trouble forced him to retire. Sunday the track was very heavy especially in the race one. Julius with his TM started close to the top ten and fought in that ranking area throughout the heat. On the last lap, in an attempt to grab the tenth position, he left the ideal trajectory and found mud. Promptly restarted he lost some positions closing 12th. In the second heat the sun returned to peep out but the track was very marked. Julius left behind but was recovering positions. But a small mistake while it was thirteenth made him leave beyond the fifteenth. In the last laps he tried to do everything possible by finishing 14th. In the Absolute of the GP he closed in 11th place and now occupies the 17th position in the World Championship ranking reserved for MX2.
The next commitment to the team is set for the next weekend. In Cingoli (MC) on 17 and 18 the fourth appointment with the Italian Pro Prestige and the first act of the Rookies Cup. Julius will be staged in the MX2 while Niccolo Mannini will participate in the Rookies Cup, a race reserved for 125.
Julius Mikula: “It was a demanding weekend here in Lugo, Spain. On Saturday the track was fast and smooth, but unfortunately we had technical problems for the whole day. These problems culminated in the qualification race, where I was forced to retire early, thus compromising my starting position for Sunday’s evenings. Thanks to the excellent work of the team, the problem was solved during the night and the bike worked perfectly on Sunday. In the first heat I was fighting around 11th position and, on the last lap, in an attempt to enter the top ten, I chose the wrong trajectory and I was stuck in the mud concluding in 12th place. The second heat took place in ideal weather conditions, but the track was extremely ruined full of holes, furrows and steps. I had a good pace, but a small mistake and a fall made me close in 14th position. A big thank you to all those who support me: the team, my family and all fans. Despite the difficulties, it was an important weekend and we continue to push! “.
