Il Mondiale Motocross MXGP è giunto al penultimo atto della stagione 2022, che si è corso sulla pista di Saint Jean d’Angely in Francia.
È stato un fine settimana complicato per Jeremy Van Horebeek, che già nelle prove cronometrate è incappato in una brutta caduta che gli ha procurato una forte contusione al fianco destro. A causa del dolore Jeremy non è riuscito a fare meglio del 17° tempo.
Nella manche di qualificazione Van Horebeek è partito molto bene e, anche se non è riuscito a trovare il giusto varco alla prima curva, Jeremy con una buona prestazione ha recuperato diverse posizioni andando a concludere con il 13° posto.
Al via di Gara1, dopo una non facile partenza, Jeremy stava recuperando posizioni giro dopo giro è era già arrivato fino alla decima posizione, purtroppo però Van Horebeek è stato poi vittima di una brutta caduta, che lo ha costretto al ritiro. Jeremy è stato immediatamente trasportato all’ospedale per accertamenti dove gli è stata riscontrata la frattura di due costole.
Daniele Marchese commenta così la gara: “Questa per noi e Jeremy è stata la gara più difficile di tutta la stagione, purtroppo quando si trovava in decima posizione in Gara 1, sul rettilineo di partenza, è caduto procurandosi la rottura di due costole. Siamo molto dispiaciuti per Jeremy, non si meritava un finale di stagione di così, stava dando il massimo per cercare di recuperare punti e rientrare nella top ten. Attualmente è in ospedale sotto osservazione per capire i tempi di recupero e se potrà essere presente in Turchia e al Nazioni.”

The MXGP motocross World Championship reached the penultimate act of the 2022 season, which was raced at the Saint Jean d’Angely track in France.
It was a difficult weekend for Jeremy Van Horebeek, who already in timed practice suffered a nasty crash that caused him a severe contusion on his right side. Due to the pain Jeremy was unable to do better than 17th time.
In qualifications Van Horebeek got off to a good start and, although he was unable to find the right gap at the first corner, Jeremy made up several positions with a good performance to finish 13th.
At the start of Race 1, after a not so easy start, Jeremy was making up positions lap after lap and was already up to tenth position, but unfortunately Van Horebeek was then the victim of a bad crash, which forced him to retire. Jeremy was immediately transferred to hospital for medical checks, and was diagnosed with two fractured ribs.
Daniele Marchese commented on the race: “This was the most difficult race of the season for us and Jeremy, unfortunately when he was in tenth position in Race 1, on the start straight, he crashed and broke two ribs. We are very unhappy for Jeremy, he didn’t deserve such a bad end to the season, he was giving his all to try and make up points and get back into the top ten. He is currently in hospital under observation to see how long his recovery time will be and if he will be able to be present in Turkey and at the Nations.”
