Bibione – Continua il successo straordinario della Bibione Sand Storm. La gara italiana di campionato del mondo FIM Sand Races 2025 vede Todd Kellett e Dirk Schelfout trionfare davanti a 80mila spettatori che hanno raggiunto la città di Bibione nel corso del weekend.

La seconda manche delle moto è una delle più belle in assoluto del mondiale FIM Sand Races. Todd Kellett (Yamaha – Gran Bretagna) vince dopo una grande rimonta, ma Cyril Genot (Honda – Francia) lo mette in grande difficoltà, arrivando alle sue spalle per pochi metri. Per Genot è un grande riscatto, dopo il ritiro per problemi meccanici di sabato, ma nella classifica finale deve comunque accontentarsi del diciannovesimo posto.

ENGLISH: The history of Bibione Sand Storm goes on with another great success. The Italian round of the 2025 FIM Sand Races World Championship set Todd Kellett and Dirk Schelfout win in front of 80,000 spectators, who flocked to the town of Bibione over the weekend.

The second moto of the FIM Sand Races World Championship was one of the most exciting of all time. Todd Kellett (Yamaha – Great Britain) won after a great comeback, but Cyril Genot (Honda – France) put him in serious trouble, finishing just behind him. It was a great redemption for Genot after retiring due to mechanical problems on Saturday, but anyway he had to settle for nineteenth place in the standings.

Hakon Fredriksen (Honda – Norvegia) corre un weekend in crescendo e, grazie a un quarto e un terzo posto, precede Jeremy Hauquier (Yamaha – Francia) sul podio. Quarto Damien Knuiman (Yamaha – Olanda) e quinto Milko Potisek (Yamaha – Francia), rallentato da una caduta al via, dopo il secondo posto di ieri. Sul podio, a premiare i protagonisti di Bibione, arriva l’ospite d’onore Antonio Cairoli, molto impressionato dalla bellezza dell’evento Sand Storm.

Primo degli italiani Matteo Del Coco (Husqvarna), che si mette in luce con una positiva ottava posizione al suo debutto assoluto nel mondiale Sand Races.

ENGLISH: Hakon Fredriksen (Honda – Norway) had a great weekend and, thanks to a fourth and third place finishes, passed Jeremy Hauquier (Yamaha – France) on the podium. Damien Knuiman (Yamaha – Netherlands) finished fourth, and Milko Potisek (Yamaha – France) is fifth, slowed down by a crash at the start of Sunday race, after Saturday’s second place. Motocross legend and Bibione special guest Antonio Cairoli presented trophies at prizegiving ceremony. He said he’s been really impressed by Sand Storm event.

La gara della femminile sorride ad Amandine Verstappen (Yamaha – Belgio). Kiara Fontanesi (GasGas – Italia) cade nelle prime fasi, perde molto tempo, ma lotta fino all’ultimo centimetro e recupera quasi 1 minuto di ritardo sulla campionessa in carica. Ma non basta: Verstappen resiste e vince la gara. Al terzo posto chiude Mathilde Denis (Yamaha – Francia).

Dirk Schelfout è il campione della Bibione Sand Storm quadcross. Il belga, a bordo del suo Honda, conclude la gara della domenica al secondo posto che, unito alla vittoria di ieri, gli garantisce il successo.

ENGLISH: The moto Women race went to Amandine Verstappen (Yamaha – Belgium). Kiara Fontanesi (GasGas – Italy) crashed early in Sunday race, losing significant time, and put an extra-effort to reduce the 1-minute gap to Verstappen, but it wasn’t enough: the reigning World champion won the race. Mathilde Denis (Yamaha – France) finished third.
Dirk Schelfout is the 2025 quadcross Bibione Sand Storm champion. The Belgian, riding his Honda, finishes Sunday race in 2nd Place that, combined with Saturday’s win, gives him the victory.

Glenn De Swarte (Wedirt – Belgio) è costretto al ritiro durante l’ultimo giro, mentre sta lottando con Schelfout, e perde così il suo posto sul podio. Secondo assoluto Fabien Michel (Yamaha – Francia), grazie a un quarto e un terzo posto. Terzo sul podio della Sand Storm il veterano Axel Dutrie (Yamaha – Francia).

Pablo Violet (Yamaha – Francia) si riscatta dopo i problemi tecnici del sabato e, vincendo la gara della domenica, risale nella classifica finale al sesto posto. Sfortuna nera, invece, per Oliver Vandendijck (Honda – Belgio), ritirato anche nella seconda manche dopo il forfait di ieri.

ENGLISH: Glenn De Swarte (Wedirt – Belgium) is forced to retire during the last lap, while he’s fighting with Schelfout, therefore he loses his spot on the final podium. Fabien Michel (Yamaha – France) is second, thanks to a fourth and a third place. The French veteran Axel Dutrie (Yamaha) takes third spot on the final Sand Storm podium.

Pablo Violet (Yamaha – France) takes his revenge after yesterday’s mechanical issues and, winning Sunday race, gains 6th place in the final standings. The bad luck continues for Oliver Vandendijck (Honda – Belgium), forced to retire also on Sunday, after Saturday’s breakdown.

Il primo degli italiani è Lorenzo Bortolozzo (Suzuki), mentre Lorenzo Taricco (Yamaha) deve abbandonare per un problema meccanico dopo la bella sesta posizione di sabato.

Termina così l’edizione 2025 della Bibione Sand Storm. Un altro grande successo di pubblico e uno spettacolo che sta entrando di diritto nel gruppo degli appuntamenti imperdibili del motociclismo in Italia.
